On 15.02.2011 in the town Godech was officially opened
the first of its kind in Bulgaria and the European Union high-tech production line for Power LEDs – Octa Light Bulgaria AD. The company belongs to the economic group of Monbat Plc, as the manufacturer of rechargeable batteries holds 51 % of its capital. The opening ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister the Republic of Bulgaria Mr. Boyko Borisov and the Deputy Prime Minister – Mr. Tsvetanov. Mr. Atanas Bobokov – Chairprson of the Management Board of Monbar Plc, the Prime Minister the Republic of Bulgaria Mr. Boyko Borisov and Mr. Iliya Veselinov – Executive director of Octa Light Bulgaria AD cut the ribbon of the new factory.
The investment in the new factory has been made within approximately 1 year. For the construction and production of the power LEDs and lighting fixtures upon reaching full production capacity will be employed around 100 engineers and other professionals. The production of Octa Light Bulgaria AD will be exported to Italy, Switzerland and the neighboring countries as the Company is in a process of negotiations with several Bulgarian municipalities for replacement of their street lighting fixtures with powerful LEDs that use 60 percent less energy than the traditional lighting fixtures. At the opening of factory Mr. Iliya Veselinov - Executive Director of Octa Light Bulgaria AD
stated that besides being the only manufacturer in Europe, the new factory will also offer a competitive price, even compared to the analogous Chinese products.
