Question & Answer Answered On
Q: can it go sideways? 18-Jun-13
A: it does have a very effective traction control system thus drifting is virtually impossible
Q: A "Friend" of mine is looking at getting into some sort of Somalian Pirate style work but as he lives in Milton Keynes, which geographically is pretty central and surrounded by fields coupled by the fact he doesn't own a boat, his idea isn't very well thought out....though I do admire his work ethic. If you have the time or even the patience to measure the aperture of the sunroof to make sure that he could hang out of it whilst wealding a grappling hook ready to snare other passing vehicles "pirate style" maybe shouting some related pirate stereo type banter. On a similar note, do you know the maximum braking weight that the car could stop whilst snaring ie there is no point him "snaring" a Ford Escort Mk2 from late 80's as they or their parents simply wont have the money to pay the ransom. Ideally he needs to know if it would stop something like a Range Rover (new shape 2011 onwards) as he believes these people have the resources to meet his demands. Sorry for the questions 17-Jun-13
A: I presume (for legal reasons) that you are making a film and enquiring as to the cars suitability as a film prop. The enterprising tale you tell is certainly ambitious. Unfortunately (assuming newton was correct with his equations of speed and motion) with a gross weight of 1750Kg and engine power of 470 N.M the e320 is outclassed by all post 2011 range rovers, both petrol and diesel. Furthermore the car is not equipped with a sunroof with which to "film" your car grappling stunts, however in this department a can opener would suffice. Would you friend reconsider the lower end of the luxury 4x4 SUV/chelsea tractor market? the E320 could stop and out-pull all freelanders, Bmw's X1 & x3, Audi Q3 & Q5, and (4 nissan qashqai's at once) Here's hoping to see the return of piracy on the high seas of er.... Milton Keynes?
Q: My last Merc (I've had five of them, but they gradually got worse & worse & worse ...) used to cost me no less than a thousand pounds per visit to the thieving main dealer. Can you guarantee that this will live up to my others curs - sorry, I meant CARS - splendid history of this fine marque? 17-Jun-13
A: My good friend I can promise you with absolute certainty that this car will live up to all of your expectations and cost a MINIMUM of £1000 every time you cross a dealers threshold, My word is my bond.
Q: hi there im really interested just one point does the interositer valve that feeds the waffle snap pin conect to the doodle bonger is is it broke and what have the tyre pressures ever been maxed out at 17-Jun-13
A: wow, you must be a very experienced and no doubt expensive mechanic, funnily enough my local garage did replace the waffle snap pin (£214) and the doodle bonger is intact sofar as I know, I did get the tyres up to 89 on the front and 93 on the back on my last max tyre pressure test, but the rear offside wheel blew off the rim at 103 psi, oh how the hilarity ensued when I watched exploding into my little brothers face who was dutifully holding the airline,
Q: do you think it would be necessary for me to buy new car mats, only they are on offer at Aldi but would add £5.99 to the price of the car ps are you on twitter? 17-Jun-13
A: 5.99 Aldi car mats would be a fine compliment to this quality motor, BUT, we are in a recession and such things should not be undertaken on whim. as for twitter, I am, and so is she, but I don't think Its the done thing to say too much here.
Q: How likely is it that this prestigious car can swim? 17-Jun-13
A: The car has never fully been tested for its swimming prowess but the winning bidder will have the pleasure of trying if he/she so desires, I would recommend a test swim somewhere out of harms way in the Pacific - kinda near the marinas trench would be a good place to start
Q: If the winning bidder lets you down, would you be willing to use it to provide a Wedding Car service? April 26th in Oldham? Drop me a quote! 17-Jun-13
A: well, it looks like it's going to sell so perhaps I could forward your offer to the proud (snigger) new owner
Q: Hi, what is the 0-60mph on this beast? 17-Jun-13
A: with a good tailwind about 6.5 IF the EPC light does not flash red whilst the car goes into limp mode
Q: Hello, as a fellow Mercedes Benz enthusiast I am intrigued to know what will be replacing this magnificent specimen? (I mean the car of course) Regards, Ollie 17-Jun-13
A: It has already been replaced with .......another e320cdi, a few years younger.
Q: Are the free sardines still within their sell by date? 17-Jun-13
A: Put it this way, The can of sardines states it is "made in west germany"
Q: My wife has asked about your wife's top ,,,, looks nice she says is it H and M or Primark ???? ................ WTF !!!! I say !!!! 17-Jun-13
A: I think it would be H&M - I shall ask her when she comes home.
Q: I'm the Chairman of my local wine tasting club { TWITS13 } , the club is hoping to have a wine tasting session in London soon . Club funds are low as our treasurer seems to have problems accounting for funds after nights out. The assistant to the Chairman is going to underwrite the costs of the next outing , our junior delegate has indicated he will somehow recoup the costs from a mutual friend Pete. So here is my question [ its two fold, do you think I can convince the junior assistant Chairman to underwrite the cost of buying your car , to off set the costs of taxis in London [ perhaps you could give me a few pointers on how to sell the idea to him ] ? and is St Andrea pinot noir a superior wine to the Bull's blood of Erd? thanking you in advance . PM T13 17-Jun-13
A: Having done a detailed cost analysis I can confirm buying this car would be cheaper than running around in Taxi's for you & your wine drinking chums, pete should cough, as for the vino, St Andrea pinot noir is the superior of the 2, I suggest the 2002, for a piquant nose, dried fruits, cherry, sour cherry and leather taste. It's nice, dynamic, and light with rich flavors. The Bulls Blood of Erd whilst being the Hungarian national favourite is harsh in comparison.
Q: I'm looking for a car for a dear friend, who is the newly-elected, much-adored and benevolent dictator of a small democratic and freedom-loving central African republic. Will the car's bodywork resist penetration by a .50 cal depleted-uranium armour-piercing round from a Barret M82 sniper rifle fired from a rooftop about 300 metres away? and for anyone that's interested, the door of my client's brother's BMW 7-series did not. Also, can I hug your Missus? 17-Jun-13
A: Hello, not the first enquiry about this car's suitability for a dictator. the car has armour putf8g rated to withstand a low powered .22 air gun pellet, at 240 yards, I suggest your benevolent friend either A) mend his ways, make peace with his people hold democratic elections and buy the car or B) Keep up the dictatorship but buy something more suitable, especially if he is on the wrong side of anyone toting a .50 cal and DU munitions
Q: What's your favorite type of cheese? 17-Jun-13
A: Gruyer, thanks for askin
Q: Would this car suit an ex tankie who is fond of travelling over muddy fields etc 17-Jun-13
A: unlikely, anything over a 2 inch rut and the car will ground, and the traction control hinders off roading
Q: Why has the price dropped by approximately £150,000 - is there something wrong with this car that you are not telling us? 17-Jun-13
A: ya think?
Q: Will u join my Sauerkraut & beer birthday? 17-Jun-13
A: We would love to,
Q: do you prefer a chicken Korma, or a Lamb Madras? 17-Jun-13
A: Lamb, every time.
Q: Please could you tell me if this model has the clamp or maybe it's called a hanger that is halfway up the lower radiator hose and whose purpose is to keep the hose from hitting the pulleys. The clamp/hanger is connected to the engine block, I believe, with a hex bolt with maybe an 8 or 10mm head..... OR could you name Fred & Wilma Flintstones daughter? 17-Jun-13
A: Pebbles.
Q: Where is the car located 17-Jun-13
A: outside my house![]()
