US$32 Million.

Ferrari built 39 GTOs between 1962 and 1964. The iconic Ferrari racer features a 3.0-liter V12, can hit 60 in about six seconds and has a top speed north of 170. It's not the fastest Ferrari ever, but it's one of the most collectible -- and now it's the most expensive.

A British man -- believed to be businessman Jon Hunt -- has just sold chassis number 5905 for a startling 20.2 million GBP. Or, as Google translate tells us, about $32,000,000. That makes it the second most expensive car ever sold. The most expensive was a Bugatti Type57SC Atlantic with an aluminum body. No price was ever officially disclosed, but estimates were between $30- and $40-million.

As impressive a feat of spending this is, it's really just a cheap excuse for me to use a bunch of really fantastic Ferrari 250 shots that our man Niebuhr took at the Monterey Historics.
