Finished in Macau Blue (one of just 3 colours available) here we have a super clean example of the M3 E30 Evolution II, Number 155 of just 500 built. Its Chassis number WBSAK010702191880 and it has travelled just 90,343km ( 56,113 miles ) from new.
It has lived in Sunny Italy since 1994, Its previous owner keeping it in dry storage for the last 14 years with just occasional use/running.
ItΆs a rare rust free example, difficult to find in this condition, indeed impossible if used in the UK during winter months!
Developed for group A Racing the Evo II M3 E30 is considered by many aficionados as the most pure and collectable of all the E30 M3 Variants, it does not have a catalytic convertor which did not bond well with the high revving F2 derived 220 bhp M3 engine, other changes included new pistons that raised the compression to 11:1 (from 10.5:1), a more efficient air intake, lightened flywheel and reprogrammed engine management system.
Evo II models also featured a BMW Motorsport-painted engine head, longer axle-ratio (for higher top speed). -Lighter windows and bumpers, Brake air intakes instead of fog-lights, model specific rear wing and front splitter.
M3 E30 Aficionados may note that the wheels are not the original type being changed for wider lighter BBS ones and also the Steering wheel has been changed for a later M Sport, type, original specification replacements can be sourced easily, personally IΆm happy with these sensible upgrades from a driving perspective.
The M3 E30 was tall geared for a high speed remember so the last keeper rear differential was changed too for a low ratio unit to improve acceleration/drivability, the original one is with the car and we can swapped back if the new owner desires.
Original Service and Handbooks are with this M3, there are 4 stamps in the maintenance book the last owner self-maintaining the car. IΆve just had a full service carried out with all new fluids, Engine, Coolant, Brake Fluid, Gearbox and Differential.
ItΆs just had a recent MOT too, no advisoryΆs. A new Battery and Alternator have been fitted too.
