2014 BMW M3 spied in Scandinavia

The 2014 BMW M3 continues its winter testing trials in the snowy and cold area of Northern Europe. Latest spy photos comes from Sweden and show a mildly disguised test mule that is being tested in winter conditions.
Visible in the spy shots are the front and rear flared wheel arches, large brakes with cross-drilled discs and the typical four tailpipes specific to M models. Surprising is the fact that the power dome seen on previous
prototypes is not available, but regardless, we still believe the production variant of the M3 will retain the iconic bonnet.
As we reported once again earlier today, the F80 BMW M3 will be powered by an inline-six engine, despite a V6 engine being tested at some point in the process. The engine of choice is a newly developed unit that is said to be rated at around 450 horsepower. The new M3 is expected to be slightly faster than the current E90 generation thanks to a lower weight. If it falls under 1500 kilograms, then the F80 M3 should be more than a strong contender for similar offerings from Audi and Mercedes.
So when will the M3 debut? Some sources say as soon as the Geneva Motor Show in March, while others hint to an unveil on home turf at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September.
